The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) announced that 22,000 children were infected with acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS) in Nigeria last year.
In its report published on the occasion of “December 1, World AIDS Day”, UNICEF shared the information that 22,000 children between 0 and 14 years of age contracted AIDS in Nigeria in 2019.
In the report, in which it has been recorded that so far 150 thousand children in the country have been carriers of the HIV virus (Human Immunodeficiency Virus), it was pointed out that this figure is alarming.
In the report, it was stated that 110 thousand children died of AIDS in the world last year and 13 thousand of them were in Nigeria.
