According to information obtained from IMM sources 10-15 days before the mayor of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Ekrem İmamoğlu Isidor is a reported terrorist organization that in preparation for the killing of militants in Turkey was approved.
It was said that the İmamoğlu security team was informed about this issue and steps were taken to take further action. It was learned that additional protection was requested from the Istanbul Ministry of the Interior and Governorate. It was also noted that the number of guards has not yet been increased.
MINISTRY OFFICER: WE TAKE OUR MEASURES
Interior Ministry officials spoke to Sözcü newspaper columnist İsmail Saymaz about the issue.
A ministry official said:
* We received an intelligence information note. There are other names on this fact sheet.
* However, there is no concrete or actual threat of murder. There is only one feeling.
* Based on this situation, we as a state took our measures and warned the protection team of IMM President Ekrem İmamoğlu.
* From time to time these and other sensations about some politicians or administrators are heard and the necessary measures are taken.
SECURITY: KILLER CATCH IS NOT A PROBLEM
In the statement made by the General Directorate of Security on the subject, the following statements were used:
* It has been considered appropriate to make the following statement regarding the news published in some media organs, “DAESH militants ordered to assassinate IMAMOĞLU were arrested.”
* From time to time such sensations and warnings are received against public officials, elders of the State, subjects of protection, people, institutions and places that may generate a sensation due to their functions or on the public agenda.
* These audiences or announcements are shared with the relevant people and each of them is informed. Our units take the necessary measures in this regard.
* As stated in the news, there is no attempted murder or capture of a murderer.
* Our efforts against all terrorist organizations, including PKK / PYD, DAESH, FETO and DHKP-C, continue uninterrupted and resolutely for the peace of our nation and the security of our country.
