The decision of the President to extend the application period for reduced working hours, which was taken for overriding reasons in the field of periodic situations caused by external effects by the new type of coronavirus (Covid-19), was published in the Official Gazette and entered in force.
In the decision published with the signature of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, he requested to work for the period after December 1, 2020 for compelling reasons in the area of periodic situations derived from external effects by Covid-19 within the framework of additional article 2 of the Unemployment Insurance Law No. 4447 and the principles specified in provisional article 23. It was indicated that the date of June 30, 2020 in the first paragraph of provisional article 23 of the Law will apply as December 31, 2020 for work places.
It was indicated that payments made within the scope of this decision will not be deducted from the period of unemployment benefit determined at the beginning.
In the President’s decision, it was noted that the provision of the fifth paragraph of additional article 2 of Law No. 4447 in payments for reduced hours for workplaces that have requested reduced hours until June 30, 2020.
NEW ANNOUNCEMENT OF APPLICATION BY MINISTER SELÇUK
Zehra Zümrüt Selçuk, Minister of Family, Labor and Social Services, stated that as of today new applications for short-time work allowance have begun to be received.
In his written statement, Minister Selçuk recalled that the Presidential Decree on the receipt of a new request for a short-time allowance was published in the Official Gazette.
Affirming that, with the Presidential Decree, the businesses that did not apply before June 30, Selçuk said:
“Our workplaces that do not apply for the short work subsidy until June 30 due to the new type of corona virus (Covid19) may benefit from the short work subsidy for up to 3 months for the period after December 1, 2020 if they apply to İŞKUR until December 31, 2020. “
WORKPLACES RECEIVED FROM PAYMENT MAY BE REQUESTED FOR ADDITIONAL WORKERS
Minister Selçuk also mentioned the situation of the workplaces that previously benefited from the subsidy.
Noting that workplaces that applied for short work due to Covid-19 due to a compelling reason until June 30, can also apply for a short work allowance for their additional workers, Selçuk said: “These workplaces will be able to apply. notifying their workers that they have not previously benefited from the short work practice. “
Selçuk emphasized that there is no need for a new application for his workers who have benefited from short work at workplaces previously and who can continue to benefit from short work allowance within the scope of the extension.
Minister Selçuk also recalled that periods paid as subsidy for short-time work will not be deducted from workers’ unemployment benefits.
APPLICATIONS VIA ELECTRONIC GOVERNMENT
Announcing that short job applications can only be made via e-Devlet until December 31, 2020, apart from the fact that no email applications will be received, Selçuk stated that the start date of the job allowance from Reduced time can be advertised from December 1, 2020 or later.
