“My father fell ill on October 17. His fever rose. He said, ‘My son, just in case, let me take a test.’ Went to the hospital. Tests were done, they were positive. His fever was rising. They took him to treatment. After a few days, his blood values began to drop. His body did not respond to the drugs.
Doctors spoke about a situation called “Cytokine Storm.” In the form of an attack by the immune system against intact cells. This does not happen in all patients. Blood values improved at some point. It started to improve. But when the ‘Cytokine Storm’ started for the second time, all its values were flipped. Blood values decreased, unfortunately they could not be saved.
We follow the process closely from day one. We were also able to talk on the phone before her condition worsened. The hospital where my father was treated is the one we trust the most. That is why we have already gone there. The processes of my father’s illness happened before our eyes. We were informed about every transaction. We follow everything closely. All claims on this subject are unfounded. It has no value.
In the emotion and sadness of the incident, it did not occur to us to announce that my father was ill. However, there is no obligation to announce it immediately. The man falls into his own problems. None of that came to mind in such a rush. We went to the hospital every day, but we couldn’t see my father. It wasn’t a secret situation either, but we didn’t think about announcing or sharing it later. My father didn’t want to be heard, saying ‘it’s not necessary, son.’

Speaking about Burhan Kuzu’s photographs of Fatma Mavi, Süleyman Kuzu said:
“My dad can have a photo with anyone. In many environments we entered together, hundreds of photographs were taken. He was a politician. Party members and citizens also wanted to take pictures. Even members of other parties… All politicians can have photos with everyone. No politician asks someone who approaches him: ‘Who are you, why do you want to take a picture? Therefore, it would not be correct to deduce or attribute meaning to such photographs. “
