As part of the operation, the mayor of Menemen, Serdar Aksoy, and 27 people were arrested. Following the trial, 11 suspects, including the mayor of Menemen, Serdar Aksoy, and the İYİ party’s Karabağlar district deputy, Mustafa Çama, were arrested and sent to prison.
‘IF I HAVE MONEY, I PAY MY OWN DEBTS’
The statement of İYİ party Karabağlar district vice chairman Mustafa Çama was revealed, who was arrested in the framework of the operation and allegedly paid 52 thousand lira of Aksoy’s personal debt. It was stated in the statement given by Çama in the prosecutor’s office that he said he had a very difficult financial time. It was claimed that Çama, who said that he worked minimum wage in the cleaning company belonging to Gökhan Uzun of the GOOD Party, was unable to pay his son’s school fee and had 9 executions. Not accepting that Aksoy paid 52 thousand lire of his personal debt, Çama said: “If I had money, I would pay my own debts. I am in a terrible position in terms of money. I have a debt of 45 thousand lire. I cannot pay, no I’m guilty”. It was revealed that Çama, who did not accept the allegations against him, had gone on vacation to the Maldives in recent years. Çama was seen to share the photos taken while on vacation in the Maldives on his social media account.
