Trump, who attended the annual White House ceremony with his wife Melania Trump, pardoned two turkeys, “Corn” and “Cob,” who were raised in the state of Iowa.
Both turkeys were sent to a farm in the state of Virginia.
“I wish my family and all Americans a happy and healthy Thanksgiving,” Trump said at the ceremony.

Stating that the entire world has gone through different processes this year, especially due to the Covid-19 outbreak, Trump said: “Our vaccines are coming. The greatest medical successes this planet has ever seen.”
Noting that it is very important for families and loved ones to come together, Trump said: “On this Thanksgiving Day, our greatest thanks goes to the doctors, nurses, healthcare professionals and scientists who are involved in the fight against the Chinese virus. We are also grateful to those who developed the treatments, “he said.
The last Thursday of November in the US is celebrated each year as Thanksgiving. The tradition of forgiving turkeys in the White House has existed since 1963, when John F. Kennedy assumed the presidency.
