According to the information obtained, the Turkish-flagged ship ROSELINE-A, which was transporting humanitarian aid material, left Istanbul for Libya. Last night, the ship was stopped by the German fritakeyni in the Peloponnese, in violation of international law, in Operation Irini, under the direction of a commander of the Greek Navy.
The Operation Irene Command Center, located in Rome, the capital of Italy, issued a statement about the Turkish-flagged ship.
The command center reported that the freighter was inspected in accordance with resolutions 2292 and 2526 of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) to inspect the arms embargo on Libya.
In the declaration, the following expressions were used:
* The crew of Germany’s Hamburg frigate, which received no response from the flag state, embarked in international waters approximately 160 nautical miles north of the port of Benghazi.
* The captain and crew of the ship acted in cooperation with the crew on board.
* Operation Eirene was halted after the flag state announced that it did not give permission to inspect the ship.
* No illegal material was found during inspections of the ship and the ship was allowed to run its course.
Gave foreigners a note
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that the EU, the Italian ambassadors in Ankara and the German charge d’affaires had been invited to the ministry and declared that “the departure and inspection of our merchant ship, called Roseline-A, without the express permission of our country within the framework of Operation Eirene was the object of protests and a note was given to the relevant countries ”.
