The decision not to prosecute the provincial president of CHP Istanbul, Canan Kaftancıoğlu, was lifted in the framework of the investigation carried out for the photograph of the house of the presidential communication director Fahrettin Altun in Kuzguncuk.
Sezgin Tunç, Fahrettin Altun’s lawyer, objected to the non-prosecution decision of the Anatolian Prosecutor General’s Office for the photograph of the house of Presidential Communication Director Fahrettin Altun in Kuzguncuk on April 21, 2020, against the provincial president of CHP in Istanbul, Canan Kaftancıoğlu. In assessing the objection, the Anatolian Criminal Magistrate Office accepted the lawyer’s objection and lifted the non-prosecution decision issued against Kaftancıoğlu.

The Anatolian Criminal Magistrate’s Office stated that Suat Özçağdaş, who photographed Fahrettin Altun’s home, shared a post on Canan Kaftancıoğlu’s social media account saying that Özçağdaş acted on the party’s instructions after the incident took place. It was noted that Üsküdar CHP district president Suat Özçağdaş made a statement that he received instructions from Canan Kaftancıoğlu.
In the report kept by the Fahrettin Altun guards on the day of the incident, the court also evaluated the report that 3 people arrived in front of the complainant’s residence and took photographs, and it was stated that Özçağdaş’s mobile phone was inspected by the expert , and it was determined that 1 photo of the garden where the complainant’s residence was located. The file was sent to the Prosecutor’s Office for investigation.
On the other hand, the investigation initiated against the president of the CHP Üsküdar district, Suat Özçağdaş, continues for “violating his privacy” on the grounds that he took a photo of the home of the communication director of the presidency, Fahrettin Altun.
