The accident occurred on November 14, about 200 meters from the entrance to the industrial estate on Rauf Denktaş Street in the Paşaçayır district. Serkan Yiğit, a policeman returning from his tour of the city with a group of motorcycle enthusiasts, crashed into the truck entering the secondary road while driving in the same direction. Yiğit, who was thrown onto the road with his motorcycle due to the impact, was seriously injured.
The moment of the accident was recorded by the helmet camera of his motorcycle friend who was behind Yiğit. The person who saw that he had an accident in front of his friend immediately got off the engine and asked for help.
The medical team, who arrived at the scene of the accident with notice, took Yiğit by ambulance to Harakani State Hospital and then to Kafkas University Health Applications and Research Hospital. Yiğit, who was taken for treatment, was said to have internal bleeding and his health condition remained serious.
While the treatment of the sole police officer Serkan Yiğit continued, the driver who was driving the truck was detained after the accident. The driver, who was sent to court, was released on condition of judicial control.
