Lütfi Elvan: I have begun my duty.

Lütfi Elvan, who was appointed Minister of Finance and Finance with the President’s Decree published in the Official Gazette, said goodbye to the staff in the Parliament office room.

“ IT WAS A SURPRISE FOR ME ”

Responding to questions from reporters here, Minister Elvan said the decision came as a surprise to him.

Lütfi Elvan, “Did you know before?” answered “No” to the question.

Elvan said he met with former minister Berat Albayrak and thanked him for his efforts and services, and also wished him success.

Lütfi Elvan delivered a farewell speech upon last serving on the Assembly’s Planning and Budget Committee, which he chaired prior to his appointment to the ministry.

Elvan said: “They have made great sacrifices, their sincere and friendly approach has increased our enthusiasm to work. There have been discussions from time to time. There will be different opinions because of democracy so that we can find the truth,” Elvan said.

Minister Elvan, in the message he shared on his Twitter account, stated that he began his new duty.

In his message, Elvan also shared a photo of the ministry meeting room and stated the following:

“I would like to express my gratitude to the President of the Republic, who entrusted me with this duty with his kindness. I would like to thank our esteemed Minister Berat Albayrak for his services to our nation so far. May my Lord be fundamental in good service.”

JURY AT THE TBMM

The Minister of Finance and Finance, Lütfi Elvan, was sworn in at the General Assembly of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey.

Haydar Akar, Vice President of Parliament, read the motion on the appointment of Lütfi Elvan to the Ministry of Finance and Finance, which vacated Berat Albayrak, whose amnesty request was accepted by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in the General Assembly.

Akar stated that the membership of Mersin deputy of the AK Party, Lütfi Elvan, in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey has ended as of today and invited Elvan to the podium to take the oath.

Lütfi Elvan was sworn in on the podium.

Congratulating Elvan and wishing him success, Haydar Akar stated that Elvan read the phrase “I take my oath” as “I promise” in the text of the oath and said that he should reread the text.

Then the Minister of Finance and Finance, Elvan, took the podium and repeated his oath.
