A fire broke out as a result of lightning in the open area where bales of cotton and corn used by a power plant in Adana were used for production. Fire intervention continues.

Lightning struck at 07:15 in the morning in the 105-decare open area where the cotton and corn bales used by the power facility are stored in the Zağarlı district of the Yüreğir central district.

LATE NOTIFICATION

The bullets, which began to burn inside after lightning struck, were noticed by company officials at 09:00. While firefighters who arrived in the region after the warning were intervening in the flames, the solid bales were moved to safe points with construction machines to prevent the flames from spreading.

TONS OF BALLS TURNED INTO A TOWER

In the area where the flames spread rapidly, great efforts were made to prevent the machines that process the bullets from burning. The fire, which was intervened with dozens of tankers and water tankers affiliated with the Adana Metropolitan Municipality Fire Department and the Adana Regional Directorate of Forestry, was closed off overnight. Approximately 60 thousand tons of cotton and corn bales are in the area, it is believed that 35 thousand tons of bales were turned into ashes in the fire.

It is estimated that the fire, which is encapsulated and expected to be extinguished in a controlled manner, may continue for another day. On the other hand, while the security camera reflected the lightning moment that continued throughout the day and caused a fire in the city, it was seen that lightning bolts and lightning illuminated the night.
