Search and rescue work on the rubble of Rıza Bey’s apartment destroyed after the earthquake in İzmir was interrupted due to the danger of the next building collapsing. After investigations, it was decided to carry out search and rescue with a small number of teams among the rubble of Rıza Bey’s apartment.
During search and rescue and debris removal work in the Rıza Bey department, which collapsed in the earthquake, a tilt was detected in the adjacent nine-story building, which was severely damaged.
It was determined that the dust cloud rose from the fourth floor of the building and there were vibrations in the seismic monitoring. Faced with the risk of the building collapsing, the teams that were in the rubble of the Rıza Bey apartment had to stop their work. Those waiting in the rubble area were asked to evacuate the area.
Following investigations, it was decided to carry out search and rescue with a small number of teams on the remains of the Rıza Bey residential building.
The building, which was badly damaged by the October 30 earthquake and its walls cracked, was evacuated.
For the Doğanlar and Rıza Bey apartments in the Bayraklı district of İzmir, which were destroyed by the earthquake in 2012 and 2018 ‘rotten’ it turned out that he gave the report.
On the other hand, the Minister of the Environment and Urban Planning, Murat Kurum, also arrived in the region.
