Highlights from President Erdoğan’s statements:
I wish an urgent healing to our citizens who lost their lives in the Izmir earthquake yesterday, and those who were injured by God’s mercy. We have 26 dead, 885 injured, 15 patients in intensive care. I wish to pass Izmir and all our cities feeling the earthquake. After the earthquake, we ran to the aid of our brothers in Izmir. The aid activities are carried out in full.
From the moment of the earthquake, we ran to the rescue of our brothers in Izmir, with our ministers, our deputies and our institutions.
I hope that we will build and deliver new ones to our citizens who lost their homes in the Izmir earthquake.

The world is experiencing the pain of the transition to a new political and economic era. You see how those who think their prosperity and security are threatened are thrown into the swamp of fascism. We see that the Western mentality, which presents itself as the cradle of democracy and freedom, quickly relapsed into the first serious crisis encountered.
Turkey is the country that set the target in this process. Especially in France, the growing Islamophobia in some countries is a sign that the distorted mentality that led Europe to disaster many times continues. Those who hate Islam and Muslims with religious fanaticism no longer even need to hide their feelings.
Those who defend the ugliness shown to the ruler of a country as a prophet of a religion under the protection of freedom damage the concept of democracy.
It is very painful that the path that began as European values is going to advocate the most common insults against the symbols of other beliefs and societies.
We know these facts very well. Every insult against the Prophet is directed at the entire Muslim world. Insulting each of them personally is aimed at all citizens of the Republic of Turkey.
Our duty today is to cling to our own cause. We will do this with dignity, determination and peace of mind, and we will never trust provocations.
‘WE RESPOND TO OUR RESPONSE WITH A NEW WAR OF ECONOMIC SALVATION’
We maintain our economy in the face of the problems of the coronavirus epidemic, on the one hand, and the attacks, on the other. We provide unrequited cash support of 40 billion lira. We introduced unprecedented tax and credit incentives. We develop and implement new incentive packages as needed. These periods are also opportunities to make bold decisions and breakthroughs. They tried to encircle our country and we responded by opposing our independence and future at the cost of our lives. We respond to those who try to besiege our country from the economic field with a new war of economic liberation. The great structural change that we have achieved in the economy has as much historical significance as the abolition of capitulations.
