Member of the academic staff of the Department of Space Sciences and Astronomy, Istanbul University (IU) Assoc. Dr. Hasan Esenoğlu, “The Blue Full Moon that will be seen tomorrow will be seen from around the world for the first time in 76 years” said.
Speaking to AA, Esenoğlu recalled that the full moon normally occurs once a month, “This year the full moon will take place for the thirteenth time. The full moon will appear for the second time in October and people will witness the blue full moon ” I speak.
Underlining that the Blue Moon or the Blue Full Moon is a rare natural event, Esenoğlu continued as follows:
“The full moon is the longest visible phase in the sky from east to west. Overnight, decorate the night and light up the land. This unique visual aspect of the full moon has also created a culture in societies throughout history. Normally, the lunar phases appear one at a time for a month. However, astronomical events can cause them to occur twice over a long period of time. This is why we see full moons twice, on October 2 and October 31. The Full Blue Moon, to be seen on Saturday night, will be seen from around the world for the first time in 76 years. This rare event is important in this regard. ”
Esenoğlu added that Blue Full Moon will provide a visual feast for amateur or professional photography enthusiasts.
