The incident took place in a field in the 101 Evler Mahallesi area in the Narman district at night. According to the complaint, residents of the neighborhood saw that a person whose name turned out to be EK (45) tried to sexually abuse their 11-year-old son by tying him to a tree and intervened. While the suspect fled, the citizens rescued the boy who was tied to the tree.
EK, who was surprised by citizen complaints, was detained and taken to the District Police Department in the same building as the district governor. Citizens who learned of the incident gathered in front of the district governor’s building. While a warning was issued for the dispersion of citizens, the special action, riot police and the gendarmerie took large-scale measures in the region. The suspect was evicted from the municipal door of the building, under strong security measures. Citizens who saw this wanted to attack the vehicle with the suspect. Meanwhile, when the vehicle quickly sped away, citizens wanted to go to the hospital where the suspect was taken for a medical check-up. The security forces did not let the citizens pass. There was a dispute between the security forces and the citizens. After a short fight, the citizens dispersed.
It became known that the suspect EK was sent to Erzurum to end the tension in the district.
