The Ankara Police Department, in the framework of two independent investigations carried out by the Terrorist Crimes Investigation Office of the Ankara Prosecutor General’s Office, carried out work by the Intelligence and Counter-terrorism Departments of the Ankara Police Department to decipher the acts and activities of terrorist organizations.
In line with intelligence assessments that DAESH could take steps to convey the message that the terrorist organization is still active during the October 29 Republic Day celebrations and the November 10 commemorative ceremonies; Two groups were identified. All the suspects were caught in operations after the detections.
A large number of organizational documents and digital materials were seized in searches made inside the places where the suspects were hiding. A multifaceted investigation into the suspects’ organizational contacts, actions and activities is reported to be continuing.
One of the suspects who were taken into custody was found to be a member of the terrorist organization ISIS as an executioner, while two of them were active and participated in the clashes.
