Many countries are tightening measures as the coronavirus increases the effect of the epidemic in Europe.

Following the increase in Covid-19 cases in Spain, the government declared a state of emergency at the national level and decided to impose a night curfew.

In his statement, Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez announced that as of today a curfew will be imposed throughout the country between 11 p.m. and 6 a.m. local time.

Sánchez declared that under the state of emergency, regional administrations could ban travel between regions and announced that he would seek approval from parliament to extend the new restrictions from 15 days to 6 months.

Prime Minister Sánchez declared that regional governments can make a 1 hour flexibility in curfew hours if they wish.

“THE MOST SERIOUS SITUATION OF THE HALF CENTURY”

Noting that movement restrictions between regions will be determined by regional leaders, Sánchez said that interregional movements will only be allowed depending on business and medical needs.

“The situation we find ourselves in is extreme, the most serious in the last half century,” said Prime Minister Sánchez.

While the Canary Islands from the state of national emergency declared in Spain were excluded, public and private meetings were limited to 6 people.

On the other hand, the total number of cases in Spain reached 1,110,372, and the total loss of life reached 34,752. (İHA)
