Turkey, Soil Products Office (TMO) through, mainly civilians living in Syria, in needy countries found in flour and pulses subsidies.
According to the decision published in the Official Gazette with the signature of the president and president of the AKP, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, TMO was assigned the donation of up to 100,000 tons of flour for bread wheat and 10,000 tons of green lentils and chickpeas.
TMO’s bread wheat flour, green lentils and chickpeas will be delivered to the Presidency of Emergency and Disaster Management or the Turkish Red Crescent. The transportation and distribution of the delivered supplies will be coordinated by AFAD. Said distribution fee will be covered by the corresponding AFAD assignments.
SAME DAY CUSTOMS TAX RESET
On the day of the aid decision, imports of wheat, barley and corn from abroad were also paved without customs clearance. According to this decision Turkey, on the one hand abroad to pay foreign currency to import wheat, wheat flour makes the meat imported from a free hand to send to Syria.
PRODUCTION DECREASES EVERY DAY
Wheat production, which was 22.6 million tons in 2018, declined to 19 million tons in 2019. The 2020 harvest is expected to be completed at 18.5 million tons. The AKP government, which paid the highest amount of TL 1,850 per tonne to its own farmer for durum wheat, agreed to pay TL 2,350 per ton with the latest imports to farmers in the United States and Mexico.
