Although the Armenian army carried out a missile attack on the second largest city in Azerbaijan, Ganja and Mingechevir, it was recorded that there were many civilians under the two buildings destroyed as a result of the attack.
Azerbaijani Vice President Hikmet Hajiyev announced that 35 civilians were injured and five civilians, including two children, were killed.
While dozens of people were feared to have died, more than 20 buildings were destroyed, according to authorities, in a rocket attack while people slept.
Azerbaijani sources reported that the attack on the town of Mengeçevir was neutralized by missile defense systems.
