Gradual sanctions will be imposed on those who do not open a representative office, ranging from fines to advertising ban, which can result in a narrowing of the band. People whose personal rights are violated will go to the representative of social networks to remove inappropriate content or block access. The representative must respond positively or negatively to the request within 48 hours at the latest. It is also the responsibility of the representation to publish a report every 6 months on the complaints. An administrative fine of 5 million lire will be applied to those who do not comply with the obligation to respond, and 10 million lire to those who do not report. Social networks that do not remove inappropriate content within 24 hours, despite the court decision, will be liable for damages. The right to be forgotten is introduced with the social media law. Actions in which people are named and described as “an attack on personal rights” will not be seen in search engines.
