During this period, the number of employed persons decreased by 361 thousand in the agricultural sector, 246 thousand in the industrial sector, 761 thousand in the services sector, while 114 thousand in the construction sector. 19.4% of those employed were in agriculture, 19.6% in industry, 6.1% in construction and 54.9% in the service sector.
LABOR FORCE PARTICIPATION RATE 50.3 PERCENT
The labor force decreased by 1 million 622 thousand people to 31 million 491 thousand people in July 2020 compared to the same period of the previous year, and the labor participation rate was 50.3 percent with a decrease of 3.5 percentage points.
The proportion of unregistered employees, which shows the proportion of employees who are not affiliated with any social security institution in the total employees in the July 2020 period, decreased by 3.3 points compared to the same period of the previous year and it was realized in 32.7 percent. The rate of unregistered workers in the non-agricultural sector decreased by 3.1 points compared to the same period of the previous year and increased to 20.1 percent.
In the 15-64 age group, the unemployment rate was 13.7 percent with a decrease of 0.5 percentage points compared to the same period last year, and the non-agricultural unemployment rate was 16, 0 percent with a decrease of 0.6 percentage points. The employment rate in this age group was 48.3 percent with a decrease of 2.7 percentage points, and the labor force participation rate was 55.9 percent with a decrease of 3.6 points. percentage.
UNEMPLOYMENT OF THE YOUNG POPULATION 25.9 PERCENT
The unemployment rate among the young population aged 15 to 24 was 25.9 percent, a decrease of 1.2 points compared to the same period of the previous year, and the employment rate decreased by 4.5 points to 30.4 percent. In the same period, the labor force participation rate decreased 6.8 points to 41.0 percent. The rate of those who were neither studying nor employed was 29.8 percent with an increase of 0.4 points over the same period of the previous year.
The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate was 13.6 percent, decreasing 0.5 points compared to the previous period. The number of unemployed decreased by 75 thousand people compared to the previous period and reached 4 million 207 thousand people.
The seasonally adjusted employment rate increased 0.8 points compared to the previous period and became 42.6 percent. The number of employed increased by 540 thousand and was estimated at 26 million 648 thousand people.
