A fire broke out at the Dışkapı Yıldırım Beyazıt Research and Training Hospital, when a patient hospitalized in the psychiatric ward set his bed on fire. Fire crews who arrived at the scene due to the fire in the psychiatry department on the 1st floor of block F evacuated patients inside.

THE ALARM IS GIVEN
The fire that started as a result of a patient who was hospitalized in the psychiatric clinic on the 1st floor in F Block, set his bed on fire, rapidly escalated. Other floors of the building also filled with smoke. After the fire alarm was activated, many firefighters, UMKE, health teams and police were sent to the hospital.
PATIENTS EVACUATED
Firefighters evacuated the patients trapped in the building. While the person who set his bed on fire was injured in the fire, it was determined that 5 of the building’s patients were affected by the smoke. While patients affected by the smoke were transferred to the Emergency Department on stretchers, other patients were also transferred to polyclinics.
