Süleyman Yıldırım was killed in front of his home in the Gediz district of Kütahya on January 3, 2019. His wife, daughter Çiğdem and son-in-law Süleyman Gürbüz were present at the time of the murder. At this point, a surprising confession came from Süleyman Gürbüz, whose eyes turned. “I didn’t kill my father-in-law!” By making a statement, Gürbüz acknowledged that he had committed the murder due to persistent questions from Didem Arslan Yılmaz.
Gürbüz said he got angry and attacked him with a knife during his argument with his mother-in-law, and then stabbed the knife in his hand with his father-in-law Süleyman Yıldırım.

While the broadcast was in progress, the Istanbul Public Security Branch Directorate and the Küçükçekmece District Directorate, which accepted Süleyman Gürbüz’s statements as warning, detained Süleyman Gürbüz on the live broadcast.
Gürbüz was first taken to the Küçükçekmece Canarya Police Station to testify. In the morning, the suspected murderer Süleyman Gürbüz was transferred to the Gediz Courthouse after his statement at the Gediz District Police Department.
