RESOLUTION TO DISCUSS OF THE UN SECURITY COUNCIL
The United Nations Security Council (UNSC) will discuss the TRNC’s decision to open the closed Maraş coastline to the public on Friday.
According to information obtained from diplomatic sources, the UNSC will discuss Maraş’s closed decision of the TRNC in a closed session on Friday.
The meeting is expected to take place at 3:00 p.m. local time.
For his part, the UN Secretary General, Antonio Guterres, expressed his concern over the decision and asked “to avoid unilateral actions that increase tension on the island and overshadow the success of the dialogue and negotiations.”
