The famous actress Özgü Namal was born on December 28, 1978 in Üsküdar. Her mother, Akile Namal, of Thessaloniki origin, is a retired civil servant, while her father, of Macedonian origin, Kubilay Namal, is a retired merchant.
He began acting professionally at the Masal Gerçek Theater in 1997 with plays for children. After graduating from Üsküdar Cumhuriyet High School and the Theater Department of the Istanbul University State Conservatory, Namal studied acting at the Kadıköy Center for Public Education and the Müjdat Gezen Theater. Although cinema and theater are her greatest passion, photography is also among her hobbies.
She was widely known for her character Elif Eylül, who played Polat Alemdar’s lover on the series Kurtlar Vadisi.
She won the award for Most Successful Musical or Comedy Actress of the Year in Supporting Role at the Afife Theater Awards with her performance in the play Rental Oyun in 2005.
