Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and French President Emmanuel Macron discussed the conflicts on the Armenian-Azerbaijani front in their telephone conversation.
According to the statement from the Azerbaijani presidency, Macron, who called Aliyev by phone, expressed concern about the conflict and called for a ceasefire and the resumption of negotiations.
Aliyev also claimed that as a result of the heavy artillery fire by the Armenian armed forces against the settlements in Azerbaijan, 19 Azerbaijani civilians were killed, more than 60 people were injured and hundreds of houses were destroyed.
Emphasizing that the Azerbaijani army carried out a successful counterattack operation and liberated some of the occupied territories, Aliyev said that the Iravan administration took measures that would disrupt the negotiation process and that the process was badly affected.
Aliyev claimed that it is the Yerevan administration that is responsible for the breakdown of the negotiation process and the start of conflicts.
