Cemal Enginyurt, the independent deputy from the army, who was expelled from the MHP, made a statement at a press conference held at the Grand National Assembly of Turkey. Enginyurt emphasized that in the ‘presidential system’ there is no importance of parliamentary membership and that the Presidency must be symbolic.
“THE SUPPORT TO THE ALLIANCE OF THE REPUBLIC IS NOT LIKE THE OLD”
Enginyurt used the following statements:
* Turkey’s nationalism, advances in democracy, justice and education that believe in that point and this point must be strengthened.
* The system referred to as the current presidential system is based on 50 + 1 percent.

* Ministers do not get on the phone. The bureaucrats are not on the phone. Department heads don’t take what legislators say seriously. But the deputy pays the bill. The deputy facing the public in the constituency.
* For example, a city hospital must be built in Ordu. There is still not the least service, foundation or tender.

“The parliamentary system must be a strengthened presidency, the president must be symbolic, the powers of the president must be taken. It should become a symbolic president.
