The war situation and clashes that began between the two countries with the attack on Azerbaijan in Nagorno-Karabakh, which is occupied by Armenia, continue to intensify. Hürriyet followed events in the Ağdere-Terter region, which is the center of the conflicts.
A COMPLETE STATE OF WAR
After Armenia attacked Azerbaijan, especially in civil settlements, the front line and risk areas of the country were declared in a “state of war”. In some cities, including Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, a curfew is imposed after 21:00. Although the streets have been emptied since the beginning of the ban in the city, it is seen that the police and security teams are constantly patrolling.
100 THOUSAND CIVILIANS LIVED

We moved from Baku to Terter province, where Armenia targets civilians. The Azerbaijani army set fire to the positions of the Armenian army stationed in the Hasankaya settlement of Terter and in the Talish region. Armenia, for its part, hit the center of the city of Terter, where about 100,000 civilians lived in yesterday’s attacks. 6 civilians were injured and one person died here. Terter town center was evacuated after Armenia’s attack on civilians. As thousands of people left their homes and moved to other areas, the city became a ghost town. Şule Huseyinova, who left her home in Ağdam village with her children and family of 10, said: “They hit our house, we had to leave our village.”
ARMENIAN SOLDIERS ESCAPE
As the Azerbaijani army advanced on the front line, the Armenian army was reported to have abandoned the positions of a battalion stationed in the occupied village of Tonaşen in Terter province and fled. In the information from the Azerbaijan Ministry of Defense, it was stated that “soldiers of the 2nd Battalion of the 10th Destroyer Division, 7th Destroyer Regiment under the Command of the 1st Army of Armenia abandoned their positions and fled with heavy losses.” It was learned that the operation launched by the Azerbaijani army to clear the city of Fuzuli from the Armenian forces continued with violent clashes throughout the day. It was claimed that the convoy of armored vehicles of the Armenian army forces leaving the Madagiz region in the direction of Aghdere and the artillery battery supporting them were fired upon and destroyed by Azerbaijani air forces and ground troops.
A ROCKET FALL IN OUR HOUSE
In Terter, which is the center of the conflicts in Azerbaijan, civilians left the city after the Armenian attacks. Families whose houses in Agdam village were attacked were left on the street with some items that could be taken away. Şule Hüseyinova, who left her home with her family, Gülşen Hüseyinova and Hayale Memedova, who were discovered with their 3 children, are waiting for the fighting to end and return home in their cars and on the tarps that they laid out next to them.

THIS IS THE SITE THAT WORKS THE MOST
In Terter, which is the center of the conflict, civilians left the city after the Armenian attacks. The busiest square with the portrait of the late President Heydar Aliyev in the city, where nearly 100,000 people live, looks like a ghost town. The city headquarters, where Armenia attacked with rockets, is protected by barricades behind sandbags.
VOLUNTARY ARMY
In the capital Baku, where we arrive at night, people rush home before curfew begins. As everyone retreats to their homes at 9:00 p.m. when the ban begins, the crowd stands out in front of the branches of military service. Large numbers of people of all ages, men and women, voluntarily enlisted in the army and lined up to go to Karabakh. It is noteworthy that some families gathered in front of the military branches to support their children who came to enlist in the army as volunteers. It was learned that among these people, including former soldiers, those whose conditions were suitable were recruited into the army and sent to the front with vehicles that were made to wait.
