The authority of the newspapers and kiosks for the sale of products affiliated to the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) was granted to Istanbul Kültür ve Sanat Ürünleri Ticaret AŞ with the decision taken by the IMM Council. IMM specified that in the new contract, the rents of the newspaper kiosks in Istanbul will increase by up to 560 percent and an invoice of up to 80,000 to 300,000 will be issued as a renewal fee. But they will deliver the kiosks after 12 months. How will we pay the fee for a 200 thousand TL buffet that you will deliver in 12 months and expand the range of products? How are we going to pay these high rents before moving on to these benefits? “She said.

NO LEGAL FOUNDATION
Muhammet Kaynar, the head of the IMM Council’s AK Party Legal Commission, stated that the rents of existing buffet operators are automatically extended each year, and that IMM cannot request a rent increase or evacuation by sending a letter He said: “If the rent is low, you can file a ‘rent increase lawsuit’ according to section 344 of the Code of Obligations. You cannot increase the rental rate by sending a letter. Especially when sending a letter to the current tenant, you cannot demand money from them, such as air money.
