The mayor of the Antalya Metropolitan Municipality, Muhittin Böcek, was treated in a private hospital after the coronavirus test result came back positive on August 17. As his condition worsened, Böcek was put to sleep in intensive care on September 7. After the coronavirus treatment, Mayor Böcek, who was put to sleep due to asthma and a ruptured lungs, was sent to Akdeniz University Hospital the night before at the request of Health Minister Fahrettin Koca. President Böcek, who was removed from intubation shortly before this bypass, was reported to have had a tracheostomy due to discomfort in the respiratory muscles to allow him to breathe better.
The treatment of Muhittin Böcek, who was put to sleep in the intensive care unit of Akdeniz University Hospital, still continues to depend on the respiratory system. In the statement made on the social media accounts of the Antalya Metropolitan Municipality regarding Mayor Böcek’s latest state of health, the following statements were made:
