Hayat Eve Sığar’s (HEPP) new feature of the ‘Safe Area’ app is becoming more and more common. Thanks to the application, it is possible to see if shopping centers, restaurants, cafes and even taxis are instantly safe as far as coronavirus is concerned. It is possible to see if there is a risk person or not, in a matter of seconds, simply by scanning a square code on the smartphone. The Beyoğlu Municipality has implemented the ‘Safe Zone’ application, which has been implemented as a pilot application in Kırıkkale by the Ministry of Health.
BEYOĞLU TRADER IS MANDATORY
Within the scope of the project, the use of the HES Code has been made mandatory at the entrance of the presidential building and the additional service buildings of the Beyoğlu municipality. With the application, municipal staff and citizens will be able to enter service buildings by showing the HES Code to officials. In addition, Beyoğlu merchants started using it on a compulsory basis from the beginning of the week.

Beyoğlu Mayor Haydar Ali Yıldız, who received information by visiting merchants using the app on İstiklal Street, said: “Health is more valuable than anything else, we have taken the necessary measures and inspected since the beginning of the pandemic. “We thought about what we could do on the orders of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to increase inspections and decided to implement the practice in our district.”
WHAT ARE THE ADVANTAGES OF THE APPLICATION?
Explaining the details of the project, Yıldız said: “The HES application of the Ministry of Health is available on our smartphones. We started the implementation of HEPP in all Beyoğlu stores, especially in the food and beverage places. In other words, when citizens enter a store to buy or eat, they will enter by scanning the QR code in front of the workplace with their smartphone. How many people are inside thanks to the application? Are there any risks? You will have the opportunity to see this. We started the implementation of the ‘safe zone’ both for our own municipal staff and in Beyoğlu. “We have made it mandatory in stores, especially in places to eat and drink.”
ENOUGH TO APPLY TO THE MUNICIPALITY
Stating that they implemented the practice on Monday, Haydar Ali Yıldız said: “We will concentrate on working in accordance with the government’s decisions. İstiklal Caddesi merchants started using it, and we will implement the app throughout Beyoğlu. The study will be necessary for us to benefit from it. Traders can apply to the municipality and say that they want to participate in the project. Our teams are already walking the merchants and doing the necessary work to teach the QR code application. “All İstiklal Caddesi stores will participate in the process to minimize risk and make all areas ‘safe areas’.”

217 WORKPLACES STARTED IN USE IN 1 WEEK
Yıldız said: “We also check the personnel arriving at the municipality. We will warn you if there is a risk of Kovid-19, we have not encountered such a situation so far. The application instantly detects and reports the Kovid-19 patient. Don’t go into that store and warn the business owner. If the workplace also controls entrants, the necessary measures will be taken. In one week, 217 workplaces began to be used ”.
“WE PROTECT BOTH US AND OUR CUSTOMERS”
Yavuz Aksu, the store manager of a watch company that started using the ‘Safe Area’ app, said: “We have just started the app. If the person has undergone a Kovid-19 test and the result is positive, HES indicates that the patient is Kovid-19 positive. With the data matrix that we put at the entrance of the store, if the Kovid-19 patient enters the store, we can notice it, we take extra precautions. That is why it helps us before we measure the temperature. Very good application, it would be better to spread it to all businesses. We didn’t have any problems, we protect both ourselves and our clients. “
