After Erdogan’s MKYK meeting the day before, relations with the Eastern Mediterranean, Greece and France were on the agenda of their meetings until 23:00. According to the information obtained, during the meeting of Macron and Erdogan, he again highlighted Çavuşoğlu’s visit to France, which was delayed due to the pandemic. Macron invited Çavuşoğlu to France again. During the meeting, Turkey on the reduction of tension in the eastern Mediterranean since the negotiations so far, no one’s territory and on the assessment of whether the eye was performed.
Erdogan took over the presidency after meeting at the party and discussed the latest situation in the Eastern Mediterranean and the diplomatic steps to be taken with Foreign Minister Çavuşoğlu. It was claimed that diplomatic traffic between Ankara and France will gain momentum in the next period.
Negotiating with Athens
On the other hand, Greece and Turkey will carry out three separate negotiation processes. The first process began on Friday with a meeting between presidential spokesman İbrahim Kalın, German Chancellor Merkel’s adviser, Jan Hecler, and Greek Prime Minister Miçotakis’ adviser Eleni Sorani. This meeting is scheduled to be held again next week. Following the contacts to be made at the leadership level, the direction of the exploratory conversations has also been determined. After 4 years of exploratory talks, the 61st meeting will be in Istanbul in the next few days. The 60th round, the last of the exploratory talks launched between the two countries in 2002, was held in Athens on March 1, 2016.
The dates on the diplomatic trade are expected to be determined in the meeting with Kalin.
