President Recep Tayyip Erdogan appointed 6 universities as rectors. He was appointed rector of Gaziantep University, Siirt University, İskenderun Technical University, Acıbadem Mehmet Ali Aydınlar University, Hasan Kalyoncu University and Toros University.
It was published in the Official Gazette “Decisions on appointments of the Presidency”.
Consequently, Prof. Dr. Arif Özaydın, Prof. Dr. Nihat Şındak was appointed rector of İskenderun Technical University, Prof. Dr. Tolga Depci was appointed rector of Acıbadem Mehmet Ali Aydınlar University. Dr. Ahmet Şahin was appointed rector of Hasan Kalyoncu University. Dr. Prof. Türkay Dereli and Prof. Dr. Ömer Arıöz were appointed.
Erdogan made these appointments in accordance with article 13 of Higher Education Law No. 2547 and articles 2, 3 and 7 of Presidential Decree No. 3.
