Burdur Governorate: Salda Lake Development Plan Approved

Ministry of the Environment and Urbanism, Lake SaldaHe approved the plan to open the nude. The 1/25000 Scale Zoning Master Plan, which was prepared and approved within the scope of this plan, covers the entire Special Area for Environmental Protection of Lake Salda (SEPA).

Details of the zoning plan were included in the press release issued by the Burdur governorate. In the prepared plan, it was indicated that the current status of the existing village settlements (Karaatlı, Düden, Işıklar and Niyazlar neighborhood settlement) will be maintained in order to preserve the traditional texture.

According to the plan, no construction in this direction was allowed on the lake shore in order to remove pressures on the construction of hotels and bungalows caused by tourist activities. With the plan, the aim is to direct rural ecotourism activities and village accommodation to village settlements (Salda Village, Doğanbaba Village and Kayadibi) and ensure rural development.

Details in the Burdur Governorate press release regarding the zoning plan are as follows:

“With the 1/25000 Scale Master Plan of the Salda Lake Environmental Protection Area approved;

• No activity is allowed on the surface of the lake.

• Bicycle paths and walking routes have been proposed around the lake, between natural spaces and villages.

• It is expected to end the activities of the existing mines in the area.

• Agriculture, pastures, forest areas and wetlands were protected.

Said plan will be announced and suspended by the Provincial Directorate of Environment and Urbanization in accordance with the Law of Land Management No. 3194, and if there are objections during the call process, these objections will be submitted to the consideration of the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization ( Directorate General for the Protection of Natural Assets).

In addition, subscale planning studies continue in Yeşilova Municipality and Salda Village. “
