The third meeting of the IMM Assembly in September was held under the chairmanship of Zeynel Abidin Okul, First Vice President of the Eurasia Show Center, within the framework of the new type of Corona virus (Covid-19) measures.

At the council meeting, the IETT letter on the private transport operating system was discussed in the joint report of the Legal Commission, the Transport and Traffic Commission, the City Economy, the Commission of Professional Chambers and Trade Unions and the Plan and Budget Commission.

THE ACQUISITION WILL BE TAKEN ACCORDING TO THE KILLOMETER, NOT BY PASSENGER

In the text of the decision, it was indicated that due to the system change, IETT would receive an additional charge of 81 million TL per month, taking into account this issue, 323 million were granted authorization to take loans for the remaining 4 months of 2020.

With the decision, the private public buses, which receive the ticket money according to the number of passengers they previously transported, and the subsidized payment from the municipality according to the number of passengers transported, will receive payments on account based on mileage and payment base, regardless of the passenger they transport in the new system.

The municipality will pay the ticket money charged to the passenger, in exchange, the municipality will pay the private public buses according to the distance traveled.

ACCEPTED BY VOTING UNION

Speaking about the decision, CHP member Mesut Kösedağı said that following Parliament’s decision, private public buses, Transportation Inc., Istanbul Otobüs AŞ were united under the IETT roof.

Emphasizing that all buses will be joined under the IETT roof in one color, Kösedağı will be remodeled to be suitable for metro routes. Therefore, IETT will be free of additional financial charges. There will be uniform dress, work hours, and social rights regulations. Private public buses will now be guaranteed by IETT and IMM. Income and expenses will be determined every month. Grant payments will be lifted. It will be clear what all buses will earn each month. “

Speaking, the Head of the Legal Commission, Muhammet Kaynar, stated that with the decision subject to the proposal, a change was made to the operating system of public private buses in Istanbul.

Noting that IETT officials, representatives of private bus companies, and House representatives also participated in the commission’s study, Kaynar said:

“The proposal has been reordered by our commission and a decision text has been prepared. Thus, the claims of the private public bus operators, the inequalities between them and the problems regarding the protection of their rights have been eliminated. Now the payment system per passenger was abolished and the bus payment system was adopted based on mileage regardless of the passenger transported “.

The item on the agenda was unanimously accepted according to the commission’s report.
