A decision was made in the compensation case against Cihan Araçman, who was sentenced to 12 years in prison for throwing acid-containing substances in the face of his wife’s nephew in 2015 at a restaurant in Istanbul’s Ataşehir district.
The lawyer for Işıl Güven, YK’s mother, who spoke at the hearing, requested that the case be accepted. The defendant’s attorney said: “The compensation bills are exorbitant. We demand that the payments made by the insurance be deducted ”.
IT WAS DECIDED
Deciding the acceptance of the case, the court decided that 4 million 770 thousand 379 Turkish lira of property damages, together with the legal interest, will be collected from Cihan Araçman from the date of the injury and handed over to Işıl Güven, the mother who is the custody of YK.
With the acceptance of non-material damage, the court ruled that 500 thousand lire for the plaintiff YK and 60 thousand lire for mother Işıl Güven.
WHAT HAPPENED?
Cihan Araçman, who was tried in a restaurant in Ataşehir for spilling chemicals on the face of YK, the 3-year-old son of his wife’s sister, was sentenced to 12 years in prison for “intentional injuries”. A lawsuit was filed against Aracman in the Anatolian Civil Court of First Instance demanding compensation for material and moral damages.
