Arrest warrants were issued for 66 people, 48 of whom were active, in the operation against the crypto-structuring of the Fetullah Terror Organization (FETÖ) within the Turkish Armed Forces (TSK) in 28 İzmir-based provinces.
In the framework of the investigation carried out by the Izmir Prosecutor General’s Office against the crypto-structuring of FETO within the Turkish Armed Forces, an investigation was launched in order to capture 66 suspects, 48 of whom were active, who allegedly interviewed the executives of the terrorist organization, who are described as “private imams” of the organization, through public telephones or buffet-style telephones.
Simultaneous operations were carried out in 28 provinces based in Izmir.
It was known that 19 of the 66 suspects arrested were non-commissioned officers from the Land Forces, 18 from the Air Force, 24 from the Gendarmerie, 2 from the Coast Guard and 3 from the Naval Forces Command, 48 of whom are still in service. .
It was reported that Captain Ç.E, who served as Commander of the Foça District Gendarmerie in the operation, was also detained.
