Çiğdem D., a mother of two, who intervened in Balıkesir to separate them in a fight over the use of her home garden, was killed by her father-in-law and brother-in-law.
In the incident in the rural Hacıbozlar district of Burhaniye district, Father Bahri D. divided the inherited garden between his sons Ramazan D., Ali D. and Aykut D., who had a dispute over its use.
The father, who brought a land survey officer to the village yesterday morning, had stakes placed in the garden, which were distributed to his children, and posted signs.
Çiğdem D. (33), wife of Ramazan D., one of the brothers, allegedly removed the stakes that were driven into the night. After a while, the father, Bahri D., and his son Ali, saw the stakes removed. D. and Aykut D. started fighting with their brothers Ramazan D. Çiğdem D., who intervened to verify that her husband had been fighting, was killed by her father-in-law and brother-in-law beating her with a shovel and a stick. Ramazan D. was injured.
While Ramazan D. was taken to Burhaniye State Hospital, Bahri D. and his sons Ali and Aykut D. were detained by the gendarmerie.
