AKP ‘100 thousand members’ event in Istanbul

While the events were banned one by one due to the Corona virus (COVID-19) epidemic, AKP held its ‘100,000 new members’ program at the Haliç Congress Center in Istanbul.

While attention was paid to social distancing in seating arrangements at the event, it was observed that intense participation was achieved. The Istanbul Governorate announced that all kinds of concerts, festivals and performances in the city were prohibited in the scope of the new corona virus measures announced yesterday, but with an additional decision a few hours after the announcement of this decision, reported that the decision it will be implemented from Monday.

It was claimed that the effectiveness of the AKP in Istanbul influenced this decision.

AKP President and Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdogan also attended the ceremony held at the Haliç Congress Center and delivered a speech.

Erdogan said that they wanted to do this program with the participation of the 100,000 new members, but with limited participation due to the conditions of the epidemic.

Erdogan stated that they planned to carry out this program in one of the largest stadiums in Istanbul, but the epidemic prevented it.

It was announced that 106 thousand members were recruited

Greeting the new members of the party, Erdogan said that the AKP has more than 10 and a half million members. It was announced that 106,000 members joined the party under the new program.

Following Erdogan’s speech, a ceremony was held on stage. Many members of the group were invited to the stage. Plaques and gifts were given. Meanwhile, the social distancing warning was given frequently.
