A 1,500-person wedding was held for Hüseyin Yaman, son of AKP Kocaeli deputy Cemil Yaman. While weddings after September 4 were prohibited from exceeding 1 hour, Yaman’s wedding was seen to last for hours and social distance rules were not observed.

Municipal personnel were mobilized to organize the wedding. Municipal cleaning workers who came to the area hours before the wedding swept the streets, painted the sidewalks and washed the roads.
A table and chair were set up for the 1,500-person guest list in the special wedding area overlooking Izmit Bay and the Osman Gazi Bridge.

A wedding planning company called New Trend de Sakarya made all the preparations for the wedding. Cemil Yaman’s son, Hüseyin Yaman, combined his life with that of Rümeysa Telli.
The mayor of the Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality, Tahir Büyükakın, arranged the marriage for the young couple.
