The fire occurred in the 4-story building on Menderes Boulevard in the district at night. In the fire, which was allegedly caused by the burning of flower pots in the store below the building, where it was known to sell floral materials, flames soon engulfed the entire building. The firefighters, police and medical teams were informed by the citizens who saw the situation. While the flames grew in a short time and took the building completely under their influence, firefighting vehicles were requested from the surrounding districts.

Firefighters who came to the address at the time of the announcement intervened in the fire. While it was claimed that the teams rescued mother Nevin K. (37) and her 1.5-year-old baby Deniz K. who were trapped in the building, Bayındır District Governor Mehmet Ali Öztürk and Mayor of Bayındır, Uğur Demirzeren, arrived at the scene and received information from the authorities.
