According to the information obtained, an argument broke out between ZG (40), who worked as a muezzin in a mosque in the Izmit district, and Özlem G. (39), a religious official who was about to get divorced. The debate that followed turned into a fight. During the fight, Özlem G. stabbed ZG in the neck with the knife he took. ZG was injured and Özlem G. was strangled to death.
Hours later he called the police and confessed to the murder.
After the incident, ZG, who was waiting for hours at home injured, confessed that you killed his wife by calling the police teams in the morning. Following the warning, many health and police teams were dispatched to the scene. Soon after, it was determined that Özlem G. died in the controls carried out by the medical teams that came to the scene. ZG, who was injured at his home, was taken to the Kocaeli University Applications and Research Hospital, accompanied by police teams, after the first response at the scene.
He killed his wife while the children slept
Following investigations by the police teams and the prosecutor who came to the scene, Özlem G.’s body was transferred to the morgue of the Kocaeli State Hospital. On the other hand, it became known that ZG and Özlem G. had quarreled before and Özlem G. had complained about her husband.
An investigation was launched into the incident.
