The incident occurred around 03:00 at a site located in the June 28 district of Eski Istanbul Yolu Caddesi. Zülküf Güneş, who worked as a muezzin in a mosque, began arguing with his wife Özlem Güneş, a religious official who learned that they had serious conflicts between them.
As the debate escalated, Özlem Güneş stuck the knife she took from the kitchen into her husband Zülküf Güneş’s throat. Zülküf Güneş, who was wounded in the throat, later drowned his wife Özlem Güneş.
Waited at the beginning of the corpse for hours, called the police in the morning
Zülküf Güneş, who was waiting for the body for hours after the incident, called the police teams when the day turned bright and reported. Following the warning, the police and 112 emergency medical teams arrived at the house where the Güneş family lived.
Medical teams determined that Özlem Güneş died during his checks. Zülküf Güneş, on the other hand, was transferred to the Umuttepe Training and Research Hospital after the first on-site intervention and received treatment.
Zülküf Güneş was detained after his hospital treatment.
WIFE COMPLAINED
It was learned that Özlem Güneş, who was strangled by her husband, who was stabbed in the throat, was beaten many times by her husband and filed a complaint with the police.
The lifeless body of Özlem Güneş was taken to the morgue for an autopsy.
