The incident occurred around 03:30 in the central Seyhan district. Fikriye and Hakan Özbek’s couple, who are married with children, started arguing for an unknown reason late at night. Fikriye Özbek, who was allegedly beaten in the debate that turned into a fight, opened fire on Hakan Özbek with her husband’s action shotgun while their children were at home. As Hakan Özbek collapsed and nonsense hit her chest, the couple’s son and her neighbors woke up to the sound of gunfire.

Fikriye Özbek, who later called his relatives, said he wanted to explain the situation and surrender. It was determined that Hakan Özbek died during the control carried out by the health and police team, who were sent to the scene of the news. Fikriye Özbek, who turned himself in to the police, was alleged to have told his relatives: “If I hadn’t killed him, he would have killed me.” In his first statement to the police, it was learned that the young woman, who was arrested, said that he did not shoot to kill.
Following the work carried out at the scene, Hakan Özbek’s body was taken to the morgue of the Adana Institute of Forensic Medicine for autopsy.
