Surprising results of this study: young people are losing faith in Turkey

The results of the most comprehensive ‘Youth Research’ conducted in cooperation with Yeditepe University and MAK Consultancy have been announced.

According to Independent Turkish, the results of the research conducted with young people aged 18 to 29 between July 13 and August 20 were shared with the public for the first time on the television show Kulis Ankara.

In the research, which asked about the relationships of young people with religion, politics, family and society, as well as their habits on the Internet, it was observed that young people were in debt, unhappy and worried about their future.

MAK Consulting President Mehmet Ali Kulat, who conducted the research field study, emphasized that the study revealed surprising data not only to understand the present, but also to shed light on the future.

50.5 PERCENT OF YOUNG PEOPLE ARE NOT HAPPY

According to the research, “When you think about your life as a whole, can you tell us how happy or unhappy you are?” While only 18.2 percent of young people answered “I am happy”, 23% answered “I am not happy at all” and 27.5% answered “I am not happy”.

While 23.5 percent of the young people who participated in the study answered “They do not consider me neither happy nor unhappy”, 7.8 percent answered “I am very happy.”

26.2 OF YOUNG PEOPLE SEEK HAPPINESS FOR MONEY

One of the surprising results of the research is that young people are asked “What must take priority to be happy?” There were answers to the question.

While 26.2 percent of young people said that to be happy you must first get money, 16.6 percent of them answered status / career. It should be noted that only 12.4 percent of the young people responded spirituality and 11.3 percent family.

CLOSE TO 90 PERCENT OF YOUNG PEOPLE THINK THE OLDER DO NOT UNDERSTAND THEM

When asked if adults understand themselves, 42.5 percent answered “They don’t understand” and 38.8 percent answered “They understand a little.” Only 9.4 percent of teens say adults understand them.

FRIENDS THROUGH THE ENVIRONMENT TO BAD HABITS

“In your opinion, what are the most important factors in the increase in the habits of smoking, alcohol and drugs, etc. among young people?” 62.3% of those surveyed answered the question as “friendly environment”, 13.9% answered “curiosity” and 10.4% answered “family environment”.

82 PERCENT DESCRIBE THEMSELVES AS HAVING A RELIGIOUS FAITH

In the study, 82 percent of young people in the 18 to 29 age group stated that they have a religious belief, while 7.7 percent stated that they did not belong to any religion.

“Does your religious belief affect your behavior / attitude?” 69.5% of the young people answered “Sometimes / occasionally” and 1.4% answered “Always”.

The rate of young people who stated that their religious beliefs had no effect on their behavior and attitudes stands out at 15.1 percent.

When asked if religion or sect is effective in choosing friends, 88.7 percent of young people answered “No, these are never important in my preference of friends,” while the rate of those who said it was effective in their preferences was only 5.2 percent.

11.7 PERCENT NO FAITH OF ‘HERE’

In the research, 72.2 percent of young people believe that the existence of the afterlife and that everything will be taken into account, while 11.7 percent do not believe in the existence of the afterlife.

“Do you pray?” 39 percent of young people answered the question “Friday Prayer once a week”, while 26.7 percent answered “several times a year for Eid prayer or other very special days.”

While the rate of those who responded “No, I do not pray at all” was 17.8 percent, the rate of those who said “I pray 5 times” remained at 14 percent.

74 PERCENT OF YOUNG PEOPLE REFER TO POLITICS

“Appropriate policies to solve the problems of young people in any of Turkey’s political parties. Do you think you can produce?” 77.9 percent of young people answered the question “No, no party is producing enough policies, it just seems that it is producing them.”

While only 19 percent of young people asked about his politics said they were indifferent, 60.6 percent from time to time and 14.1 percent said they were always interested.

“If you were running this country, what would be the problem you would solve first?” 46.7 percent of the youth answered the question of unemployment / employment problem, while 8.8 percent of the youth answered the cost of living and 7.6 percent answered justice.

“If you are given the opportunity to temporarily live in another country for educational or business purposes, would you like to go abroad?” 76.2 percent of young people answered “Yes, I will definitely go” to the question, while 14 percent answered “Yes, but if I find the same conditions in my country, I will not go.”

While the rate of those who said “Yes, I will go” was 64 percent when they were granted citizenship of another country permanently, only 14 percent responded “I will stay in my country.”

THEY WANT THE FOREIGNER FOR A BETTER FUTURE

“What country would you like to live in?” While European countries lead the question with 43 percent, the United States / Canada with 39.8 percent are followed by Scandinavian countries with 14.8 percent.

59% of young people answered “a better future” to the question “why do you live in another country?”, 14.6% said “a more peaceful life”, 6% said “justice / equality” and 20 , 4% “other”. gave the answer.

THE MOST USED INSTAGRAM

According to the research, young people are the ones who use Instagram the most with 34 percent. Twitter follows Instagram with 30 percent and Facebook with 15 percent.

58.6 percent of young people follow the news on social media, followed by television channels with 21 percent and print newspapers with 15 percent.

77.6 percent think the torpedo is more effective than the skill

In the survey “Do you work to enter Turkey by merit or is the torpedo more effective, right?” 77.6 percent of them answered that favoritism is more effective than merit.

86 PERCENT OF YOUNG PEOPLE ARE IN DEBT

One of the most surprising results is: “Do you have any debt from now on?” there was a question. 86 percent of young people answered this question “Yes, there is.” The rate of those who borrowed between 5 thousand and 10 thousand TL took the first place with 27 percent.
