A ceremony was held in Anıtkabir on the occasion of the 98th anniversary of Victory Day on August 30 in Ankara. The chanting of slogans during the ceremony in Anıtkabir, where veteran Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and second president İsmet İnönü also have their eternal resting place, sparked reactions.
Notably, a group shouted slogans from Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Anıtkabir, which was closed to visitors during the ceremony.

In reaction to the situation, former CHP MP Barış Yarkadaş wrote on his Twitter address:
* The irony of disrespect! It’s the same shame every time. Do those who do not know manners and respect the grave know that in this place you cannot chant slogans?
* Or is it done on purpose, this disgrace? Both are rudeness and immorality. I condemn those who shout slogans.
