In universities where it is announced that there will be no face-to-face exams, the exams will be carried out through “digital possibilities” or “through the use of alternative methods, such as assignments and projects”, provided they are transparent and auditable.
YÖK SENDS WRITING TO THE UNIVERSITIES
In the letter sent to the universities by the Higher Education Institution, the statements of the Ministry of Health on the article “Covid-19 measures dated May 11, 2020” addressed to YÖK were shared;
“It is seen that situations such as the massive movements of students between cities, bringing together students from different settlements, reactivating the student dormitories and not being able to comply with the social distance in the examination environments will create an inevitable risk in the pandemic struggle that we are controlling” . WHEN WILL THE UNIVERSITIES OPEN?
In the written statement made on the YÖK official website in recent days, information was shared about when the universities will open.
Academic calendars can be determined after this date in our universities and especially in the processes related to application courses that cannot be taught by distance education in the spring period; It can be built taking gradual and protective measures, provided that the prerequisite mentioned above is met from June 15, 2020 with the reasonable number of students.
The senates of our universities will be able to determine the most suitable calendar for them “taking into account their own conditions”. Final exams and evaluation of student success will be carried out in accordance with the “legally transparent, explanatory and auditable principles” determined by the corresponding higher education institution.
