German Chancellor Angela Merkel met with French President Emmanuel Macron and Austrian Chancellor Sebastian Kurz on the border issue in the context of the new type of coronavirus outbreak (Covid-19). Prime Minister Merkel stated that it is important to consider the transmission rate of the coronavirus in neighboring countries and comply with the necessary rules to return to the Schengen rules.
Merkel stated that the borders will be gradually opened by the Federal Ministry of Internal Affairs. Testing is said to start in the country next week and there will be no border control after June 15.
