Provinces where 4-day street restrictions will apply (May 16 – 19, which cities have a curfew?)

“The reception restriction will apply on May 16-17-18 and May 19,” President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said after yesterday’s cabinet meeting.

Erdogan, who stated that those over the age of 65 can go outside on Sunday, May 17 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and those under the age of 20 on Wednesday, May 20 and Friday, May 22, said the travel restriction has ended in 9 provinces.

The first restrictions were brought to Zonguldak with 30 metropolitan cities. At the cabinet meeting last week, the restriction ended in Antalya, Aydin, Erzurum, Hatay, Malatya, Mersin and Muğla.

At this week’s cabinet meeting, the entry and exit restriction on Adana, Diyarbakır, Mardin, Trabzon, Ordu, Denizli, Kahramanmaraş, Şanlıurfa and Tekirdağ has been lifted.

Consequently, restrictions imposed since April 18 in 31 provinces were reduced by 24 this week and 15 this week.

On May 18 and 19, when the curfew restriction applies, stores and online platforms such as supermarkets, markets, greengrocers, butchers, bakeries, and dessert shops will be available for sale and service to homes between 10:00 and 16:00.

THE GENERAL OF THE INTERIOR

On the other hand, the Ministry of the Interior determined the measures to be taken at the entrances and exits of the city with the circular letter that it sent to the governorates. According to this;

1- The city travel restrictions in Adana, Denizli, Diyarbakır, Kahramanmaraş, Mardin, Ordu, Şanlıurfa, Tekirdağ and Trabzon have been lifted on Monday 11.05.2020 from 24.00.

2- In the provinces of Ankara, Balikesir, Bursa, Eskişehir, Gaziantep, Istanbul, Izmir, Kayseri, Kocaeli, Konya, Manisa, Sakarya, Samsun, Van and Zonguldak, the restrictions on entering and leaving the city will continue.

In this context, governors will urgently take the necessary decisions in the provinces of Adana, Denizli, Diyarbakır, Kahramanmaraş, Mardin, Ordu, Şanlıurfa, Tekirdağ and Trabzon, in accordance with the relevant legislation on the lifting of entry restriction measures / out of town.

In the 15 provinces in which the city entry / exit limitation continues, there will be no problems in practice within the framework of the procedures and principles determined in our Circular No. 6235 of 03.04.2020.

In accordance with the relevant articles of the Law, the operation will be carried out in accordance with the condition of the violation, in particular with the administrative fine, in accordance with Article 282 of the Public Health Law, to citizens who do not abide by the decisions made. The necessary legal proceedings will be initiated within the scope of article 195 of the Turkish Penal Code with respect to the behaviors that constitute a crime.
