Last minute … Fire in the old nursing home in Ankara

A fire broke out at 5 pm in the private nursing home and in the care center for the elderly in Mutlukent Mahallesi 1961 Sokak. Officers who noticed flames rising from the 3-story building, which had not yet been determined, removed residents of the nursing home.

Some older people affected by the smoke were placed on the grass near the building. Firefighters and medical teams were dispatched to the region upon notification. Paramedics immediately intervened in the elderly. Firefighters began working to extinguish the fire.

The Ankara Governorate announced that the fire in the care center for the elderly in the Çankaya district was under control. In the Governor’s Office written statement, the following statements were used, indicating that residents were taken to the hospital for control purposes:

* In the Çankaya district, a fire broke out in a private geriatric and elderly care center, and all residents of the center were transferred to the hospital for control purposes.
